On All Souls Day, people offered prayers to all those living to comfort the dead souls or elevate them from Purgatory. However, the modern observances of the Halloween eve from the late 19th and 20th centuries had a rebirth in North America which is a combined feature of the Celtic and Christian holidays most popularly celebrated as a Christian holiday associated with feasting, trick o treating, jack o lantern. So this festive event holds historical as well as traditional importance to celebrate it with a lot of fun and happiness.
